UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors get worn out over time and need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is crucial that the new handles conform to the dimensions of the handle that was previously used.

Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever handle is a modern door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This style of handle is available in many styles and finishes. This handle is available from several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

The door handles made of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are perfect for multi-point lock doors which require a robust design. The handles are inline and run from the same spindle and screw fixings so they can be easily fitted to existing or new uPVC/Composite doors.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be placed and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles. This helps to ensure the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The lever that springs is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is especially useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors with latches which can be operated with the thumb inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles found on most doors. The handle can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and styles.
The handles have been tested to at least 200 000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. window handles meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.
All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws and can be installed on a uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is usually a benefit when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which eliminate the issue of door handles that sag out of their horizontal position when not being used.
It is important to ensure that the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often called the "handle centre" or "cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect in ensuring that you have the appropriate handles.
Once you have the proper PZ size you will then be required to make sure that the lever pads and push pads are a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you need for your doors. They typically have a square or round shape with an internal lever and external push pad.
The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads we sell are sprung. This means they can be reverted to a horizontal state when not in use instead of hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts from entering the property. You will also find that the majority of the UPVC lever pad handles are swivel that allows you to put them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned with the pins in the lock body and permitting them to turn the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.
The selection of a cylinder is essential. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, doors that are external require a higher security cylinder, while internal doors can be secured using a standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features that can improve security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder needs to be properly measured to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, if this is not possible, you may take it off to measure. It is important to ensure that there is no extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.
The design of many modern cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attacks by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This helps stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.
Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. This is a growing type of attack on cylinders where the break line in the lock is targeted with a special tool to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a much faster and simpler method to gain access than using a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could delay insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located within the base of the door handle backplate providing a sprung solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after usage. The handles had no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was removed. Adding this simple component is among the most effective ways to fix this issue and is a great way to prevent your upvc doors from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as these aren't always simple to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a bespoke hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the backplate of the door handle for many brands of uPVC doors. They are available as one unit. They come with a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
